The Bachelorette Recap

So let me just start by saying that I used to be one of those people who thought the Bachelor/Bachelorette was so stupid, why do people watch it, etc, etc. But one day my friend messaged me and basically forced me to watch it. And now I'm hooked! Granted it was only a few seasons ago, but every time a new season rolls around, there I am again, laying in bed, snuggie on, wine in one hand, snack in the other. I.can't.stop. Every season I think to myself, nope, not gonna do it, not this time. Then I think, ok well I'll just put it on for background noise. Then I catch myself watching more and more, and before I know it I'm writing blog posts about it. Well not really since this is my first one, but you get the idea.

So this season's Bachelorette is Desiree. Last season, she was one of my favourites. She seems sweet and down to earth with a bit of a crazy family, so a typical girl.

This week's episode was the one where they have to leave the beautiful L.A. mansion and move to some other awesome mansion, this season located in Atlantic City. Now I don't know about you, but when I think of Atlantic City my first thought is not romance and love. It is pretty much equivalent to what I think about Las Vegas: gambling, drinking, nakedness, and sins.

Disclaimer: I fully admit that I have never been to Atlantic City and for all I know, it's filled with puppies and roses and horse-drawn carriage rides of love.

They had the first ever Bachelorette's Mr. America and I am fully on board with this idea being carried forward in the future. They had all the typical rounds: questions, talent, and (most importantly) swim suit.

I'll leave you with that image!

My New Obsession

So I need to tell you about something I've discovered recently... Polyvore!! I know what you're thinking. "C'mon Amanda, where have you been, get it together." I know, I know. Shame on me. I can't remember exactly how I found out about it, but I'm hooked. I don't even want to tell you how many minutes hours I have spent playing around with different outfits, finding matching shoes, finding the perfect accessories. It's all starting to blur together. And I'm perfectly fine with that.

Summer Chic

I only wish I had somewhere cool to wear an outfit like this. Maybe if I moved to a bigger city.. I would stand out like a sore thumb in my neighbourhood.

This reminds me of when I was younger and I played with those paper dolls that you would put the little paper clothes on. You know the ones where you would just fold the tab over the body part to attach the clothes? That was back in the day when I used to hide my Barbies and anything girly because I had to keep up my tomboy reputation. Living a double life at 7 was stressful. Luckily, I'm out of that phase now.

Summer Wedding

This is another outfit that makes me wish I had a wedding to go to this summer. I know plenty of couples getting married this summer, but sadly I am not invited to any of their weddings. It's ok, I'll just sit in my backyard and drink my wine.. sounds terrible, I know.

Speaking of wine, it's time for me to end this post. I have responsibilities to get to, namely said wine.

Ahoy hoy

Hello Blogland,

Over the last little while, I've come to know you a little bit and I've found I like you very much. So much so that I decided to jump right in and join the party. It seems I'm a little late to the game, but better late than never, right?

This blog is going to be a journey of sorts, a documentation of my misadventures, if you will. It will have things from fashion, food, and fun to nutrition, health, and everything in between (this may or may not include random ramblings. I hope that's ok). Some days I might be clever (probably only in my mind) and other days I'll be reminded of why spell check is important. Either way, I hope you stick around and join me down this road I call life.

P.S. My road usually includes some wine, preferably Riesling or Pinot Grigio, but it's your choice really.

P.P.S. Fun fact: Alexander Graham Bell originally wanted people to say "Ahoy" when answering the phone. How weird would that be?
